Dear Yahoo!:
I was wondering what the New York Yankees are doing at this time of year? I want to send something for Derek Jeter. Could you get me an address? When do they go to Florida for spring training?

Dear Kristan:
So many questions, so little column space. Luckily, we surmise that most of your queries can be answered at Yankees.com, the official home page of the world-champion baseball team.

The site provides off-season news, which led us to discover that the team recently hosted a food drive, traded a minor leaguer to the White Sox, and celebrated the opening of the Yogi Berra musuem. Also, sadly, the site notes that Yankee great Catfish Hunter was just diagnosed with ALS, commonly known as Lou Gehrig's disease.

As for the spring training question, the best we could come up was a phone number. You can call Legends Field in Tampa at 1-800-96YANKS for more information on the club's spring schedule. We did ask around and a die-hard Yankee fan here in the office told us that pitchers and catchers report in mid-February and the games start the first week in March.

For Derek Jeter's address, Yankees.com doesn't offer much insight. However, they do offer "yankees@yankees.com" as a simple way to contact the club. Perhaps if you ask for a street address for Derek's fan mail, they'd be willing to oblige. Good luck!
