In a word: yes! There are several general sites that attempt to cover a broad spectrum of consumer goods. These types of sites are roughly similar to the print magazine, Consumer Reports. And that was how we decided to track down those sites -- by searching Yahoo! for "consumer reports." When we did, we landed in the Consumer Advocacy category (under Society and Culture). In the Magazines subcategory, you'll find the aforementioned magazine, which offers limited content for free and
premium content by subscription. Step back to the main Consumer Economy topic and you'll see a number of other sites that provide reviews and comparisons, and in some cases even provide links to online vendors. Epinions.com lets you browse through categories such as electronics, computers, cars, home and garden, and several others. Within each group, the site offers reviews and ratings from other consumers and lists places online to purchase the product. For many specialized products, such as computers, video games, and automobiles, you'll find sites that review (or allow users to review) these individual types of consumer items. For computer hardware and software, check out ReviewFinder
or CNet. For computer games, bookmark GameSpot. Finally, for cars and trucks, visit Auto.com.
