Dear Yahoo!:
Where can I find lyrics and chords for Sting's songs?
Jovan
Skopje, Macedonia
Dear Jovan:
Glad to get your electronic message in a bottle. We fired up the Yahoo! directory and typed "Sting" into the search box. The results took us directly to the Sting category (under Music > Artists), where we scanned the list of sites for likely lyrical suspects.

This led us to Sting etc., current home of the Sting FAQ, The Police FAQ, and other things Sting. Here we found many amazing facts, including how Sting got his nickname. (He used to wear a gold and black striped soccer sweater, which made him look like a bee.) The site also offers a vast lyric library, interview transcripts, and information on where to find chord progressions.

Next, we found tablature for over twenty songs by Sting and his original band at the Swedish Police Page, not to mention lyrics for all of The Police's recordings.

At Stingchronicity, a British fan site, we found lyrics from A-Z, including favorites like "Every Breath You Take" and "Rehumanize Yourself." Many are accompanied by comments from Sting that tell the story behind the song. At Synchronisite: Greg's Sting Page, we even found lyrics translated into Hungarian.

So there you go: The music of Sting and The Police rocks across the Internet and the world -- reminding us of "A connecting principle / Linked to the invisible¿Synchronicity."
