Dear Yahoo!:
When lightning strikes the ocean, do the fish get electrocuted? If not, why not?
Bright Idea
Lindenhurst, New York
Dear Bright:
We're not sure. We assume that a direct hit on a smallmouth bass almost certainly results in the fish's hasty demise, but what about a near miss? The jury is apparently still out. At least, that's what we hear from our favorite weather columnist, USA Today's Jack Williams. Check out his column, Ask Jack, for a whole host of questions and answers related to lightning.
