Dear Tina:
Four steps:

1. Enter "culinary dictionary" into the Yahoo! search box.

2. Click on the first result, Epicurious.

3. Click on Dictionary in the text navigation bar at the bottom of the page.

4. Enter "sugarplum" into the dictionary search box.

Answer: "A small confection, often consisting of fruit such as a candied cherry or dried apricot surrounded by fondant."

What's "fondant" you ask? You're on your own...
