A simple search on "village people" directed us to Yahoo!'s Village People category, where we found the very informative Official Village People Web Site. According to the elegantly designed site, the Village People are alive and kicking ... and performing. As a matter of fact, if you happen to find yourself in Australia during the month of February you might want to check out these macho men (venues to be announced). Meantime, you can peruse the band member bios to see exactly what your favorite Village person has been up to, but here are a few highlights: - Felipe Rose, the Indian: During the 1980s, he sang and
danced with Tito Puente in concert.
- Alexander Briley, the G.I.: Enjoys reading and is a concerned observer of life with an incredible memory.
- David Hodo, the Construction Worker: Once worked as a roller-skating fire eater.
- Ray Simpson, the Cop: His sister is Valerie Simpson of the famous duo Ashford & Simpson.
- Jeff Olsen, the Cowboy: During the late 1980s, he owned and operated a sports bar in the L.A. area.
- Eric Anzalone, the Biker (not original): Once sang on the high seas for Princess Cruises.
We think the official site could probably answer any Village People-related question that a fan could ever dream of. However, we couldn't find any information on the original biker, so we decided to click over to the another site, Chickenhead's Village People
Site*. There we learned that the original biker, Glenn Hughes, performs in New York cabarets, and his current interests include dancing, computers, motorcycles, and roller skating. * Sorry, that site is no longer available.
