The Dodge La Femme is a car from the 1950s that was created in an attempt to target women drivers, a "pink strategy" that one journalist describes as "clueless... even then." La Femme was a pink and white two-door hardtop that included a pink comb, purse, compact, and lipstick as standard features. A Yahoo! search on "Dodge La Femme" offered some good results. We clicked our way to a detailed article from a site called Woman Motorist, titled "The 1955-56 Dodge La Femme 'By Appointment To Her Majesty ...The American Woman'", where we learned that you can identify a La Femme by its pink rosebud-patterned tapestry-style interior upholstery as
well as by the gold script "la femme" insignia on the bumper. But no pictures. Next, we visited an About.com web site, and bingo, found a great article about La Femme accompanied by photographs. Finally, we visited one more web site that offered several more photos of the distinctive automobile, including a close-up of the floral upholstery and matching accessories.
