Ever since "corporate trainer" Richard Hatch walked away from Survivor with a million dollars, we're sure much of America is wondering the same thing. How does one make a living as a corporate trainer? We started by typing "corporate training" into the Yahoo! search field. We received several relevant Yahoo! categories in the results, however, for our purposes, we didn't need to wade through the various types of corporate training categories, so we went to the bottom of the page and clicked on the Yahoo! Site Matches link. We received some promising results and decided to click on Corporate Training Solutions. Once we arrived at the site, we
immediately clicked on What We Do. Although no specifics were given, we did learn that this particular company "provides interactive on-site training tailored to your company's needs... (and) offers a range of training courses suitable for businesses of all sizes." Hoping to find a better explanation, we clicked on the appropriately labeled "More of what we do" link. This page offered a better explanation. From what we could cull, corporate trainers conduct on-site classes and workshops on topics such as sexual harassment, leadership, team building, and other Human Resources-related issues. As a shot in the dark, we cruised over to Richard Hatch's official
site, RichHatch.com to see what the world's most famous corporate trainer had to say about his profession. The web page's first sentence offered a great explanation: Rich currently runs his own business as a corporate trainer and consultant, conducting seminars on numerous topics including, conflict management, team building, practical negotiation and public speaking. A link to Richard's corporate training business, Tri-Whale Training, presents a more in-depth look at the types of courses a corporate trainer would offer to a company.
