Dear Yahoo!:
How can I become a contestant on Wheel of Fortune?
Lily
Fort Erie, Canada
Dear Lily:
As we found out from the helpful contestant FAQ on the official Wheel of Fortune site, you have to audition to spin the wheel with Pat and Vanna. Auditions are held in Los Angeles several times a year. To find out when, send a postcard to:

Wheel of Fortune
Attn: Contestant Auditions
10202 W. Washington Blvd
Robert Young Bldg. Suite 2000
Culver City, CA 90232

Specify the date you'd like to attend, along with your name, address, and phone number. Last year, over 6 million people sent in audition requests, and less than 600 people made it onto the show. Hence, they strongly suggest that you don't make the audition your primary purpose for visiting beautiful Southern California.

Also, keep your eyes peeled for the Wheelmobile! Local TV stations often run promotions looking for hard-core Wheel of Fortune fans, and the show's Wheelmobile vets potential contestants all over the country. Don't forget to check the FAQ to find out what happens at an audition, and what makes an ideal Wheel of Fortune candidate.

We'll leave you with a pithy observation from the show's staff: "It's been our general observation through the years that contestants who play with energy, poise, and a sense of humor (without forgetting to call logical letters) tend to do better on the show."
