Dear Yahoo!:
Who composed the theme song to The Flintstones?
Mihnea
Bucharest, Romania
Dear Mihnea:
That modern stone-age family really rocks! The Yahoo! Flintstones category led us to the theme song's composer faster than Fred's feet could jumpstart his prehistoric roadster.

The Flintstones FAQ provides the lyrics to "(Meet) The Flintstones" and also lists the song's credits. Hoyt S. Curtin wrote the music, and William Hanna and Joseph Barbera wrote the lyrics. Five singers and a 22-man jazz band were used to record the song.

In addition to the theme, Curtin wrote all the background music for The Flintstones series. The legendary team of Hanna and Barbera created, directed, produced, and wrote The Flintstones, as well as many other animated greats such as Tom and Jerry, Yogi Bear, and The Jetsons. Hanna and Barbera also teamed up with Curtin for the music to hundreds of Hanna-Barbera cartoons from the 1950s through the present.
