Dear Yahoo!:
Where can I find children's poems on the Internet that deal with the events of 9/11?
Louis
Bethel Park, Pennsylvania
Dear Louis:
The September 11 Attacks category in the Yahooligans! Directory offers a number of informative online resources intended especially for kids. You'll find news coverage sites, memorial sites, relevant discussion boards, and places to learn about current international events.

The outstanding ThinkQuest site, September 11 Through Children's Eyes, a highlight of the category, features a number of poems and stories written by kids for kids. Visit the Library Section to read first-hand accounts of what it was like to be at school in New York during the attacks. You'll find stories of fear, sadness, and confusion, but also stories of hope and community.

Finally, the September 11th Poetry and Songs category in the Yahoo! Directory features several personal tributes, and this page offers a number of more adult-themed relevant poems, including "September 1st, 1939" by W.H. Auden, and "Crossing Brooklyn Ferry" by Walt Whitman.
