Dear Yahoo!:
Where can my 6-year-old daughter donate her old Barbies for other children?
GB
Austin, Texas
Dear GB:
We suggest you start with our Christmas Charities Category. While most toy-donation programs get into gear during the holidays, it's never too late to find the relevant charity contact information and box away those Barbies.

If you're trying to find a local charity, a search in Yahoo! Yellow Pages will probably result in several donation opportunities near your home. You might also try the Yahoo! Get Local city guides to look for children's hospitals.

There are several longstanding children's charities, but the Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program is certainly one of the best known. The Salvation Army's Angel Giving Tree site is currently taking a break after a busy holiday season, but should be up and running soon.

And finally, if you've resolved to do more volunteer work this year, punch your zip code into ServeNet to kick off 2003 with some good karma.
