Dear Yahoo!:
Whatever happened to Corey Haim?
Christel
Midwest City, Oklahoma
Dear Christel:
As with many fallen child stars, Corey Haim's name is now only mentioned in the context of "Where is he now?" Back in the '80s, Corey's mug was everywhere, usually alongside that of his buddy Corey Feldman. These days, the former heartthrob (aka "The Haimster") is alive and kicking it in sunny SoCal, spending his days in search of a revitalized movie career.

We went straight to his profile page on Yahoo! Movies to get the 411 on the MIA actor. Turns out Haim actually churned out not one, but two movies in 2003 -- Watchers and the follow up Watchers 2, both based on the Dean Koontz novels. And according to one of his still-active fan sites, he's been "very busy lately." Admittedly this is a far cry from his Tiger Beat glory days when he starred in such gems as The Lost Boys and License to Drive.

Sadly, Corey's True Hollywood Story reads like that of so many of his young colleagues. By the age of 16, he was a spendthrift multi-millionaire cruising the L.A. party circuit, hooked on prescription drugs, headed for bankruptcy, and labeled a casting pariah. Stories of his attempts to sell a molar on eBay did nothing to help his cause.

In 2001, Haim finally checked into rehab. While he may never realize the heights of his former career, the now 31-year-old actor is ready to give it another go.
