Dear Yahoo!:
Whatever happened to Lance Ito, the judge in the O.J. Simpson trial?
Annie
Iowa City, Iowa
Dear Annie:

He may no longer be the "world's most watched judge," but Lance Ito is still very much a part of the Los Angeles Superior Court system. In fact, look up his name on the official LA Superior Court site, and you'll find his courtroom number (he's in room 110).

Before becoming familiar to millions during O.J. Simpson's criminal trial, Judge Ito presided over Charles H. Keating's 1992 trial in the Savings and Loan scandal. Mother Teresa wrote a letter to Judge Ito testifying to Mr. Keating's character, but the judge held firm. Keating was sentenced to ten years.

In 1981, Judge Ito married Peggy York, the highest ranking woman in the LA Police Department and an inspiration for the television series Cagney and Lacey.

A Yahoo! Image Search on "Lance Ito" resulted in several all-too-familiar pictures from his time in the spotlight. And if you're a real glutton for nostalgia, feel free to visit Yahoo's OJ Simpson Criminal Trial category.
