Dear Yahoo!:
Did the child actors from "To Kill a Mockingbird" ever make any more movies?
Steve
Sioux Falls, South Dakota
Dear Steve:
Both of the actors who played the Finch children in "To Kill a Mockingbird" went on to make several other movies, though neither pursued serious acting careers.

Mary Badham was chosen to play the character of Scout Finch from over 2,000 young actresses, and picked up an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress. She performed in only two more films but had some roles in "Dr. Kildare" and "Twilight Zone." She eventually married and now lives with her family near Richmond, Virginia. Incidentally, she's the sister of John Badham, the director of "Saturday Night Fever."

Philip Alford, who played Scout's brother Jem Finch, has a handful of film and television credits but is now a businessman in Birmingham, Alabama.

The movie featured a young John Megna as Dill Harris, the neighbor boy whose character was based on Harper Lee's real-life neighbor, Truman Capote. Megna went on to roles in a number of other movies, including the Bette Davis classic "Hush... Hush, Sweet Charlotte" and "The Godfather: Part II." Sadly, Megna died in 1995.

"To Kill a Mockingbird" also introduced a young Robert Duvall in his first move role. Duvall made an indelible impression as the mysterious recluse Boo Radley.
