Dear Yahoo!:
What is the fastest growing career field in the U.S.?
Unemployed
Dear Unemployed:

According to the Employment Projections program of the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), retail salespersons top the list of "occupations with the largest job growth." The stats are almost twice the number of the number two profession -- registered nurses.

Rounding out the top 10 are: postsecondary teachers (that's college, folks), customer service reps, janitors, waiters and waitresses, food preparation workers, home health aides, nursing aides, and general and operations managers.

The program's name itself implies the statistics are projections -- the data runs from 2004 to 2014. So while the projections may change, the career fields are probably more likely to trade places on the list than disappear completely.

The BLS has other ways to check out their research, including: fastest growing industries, as well as a way to find job growth projections by state.

If you're in a rush to get into one of these careers, take a look at which occupations require either the least amount of training or a degree you already have. Although, when it comes down to it, we all know that the best job is the one you really like.
