Dear Yahoo!:
Where can I obtain plans or kits for garden sheds?
John
Staunton, Virginia
Dear John:
After taking a spin around the Web, we were pleasantly surprised to find that shed plans are readily available for sale or even, in some cases, for free.

We found several vendors that specialize in custom-made sheds and other outdoor structures. As far as plans and kits are concerned, the most promising sources look like Niagara Designs, which offers the plans for a simple shed for about $18, and Arrow, which sells sheds and storage buildings at dozens of hardware and discount stores nationwide.

A full-text search of the Net turned up several more options for your shed-construction needs. The cable show Hometime, which demonstrates various home-improvement and do-it-yourself projects, offers several Shed Plans that you can purchase via their web site.

Last, but definitely not least, we discovered free shed plan online. One of the Sears/Craftsman Weekend Warriors Projects provides a materials list and basic front and side diagrams for their Firewood Garden Shed.
