Dear Yahoo!:
Where would I look on the Net to find pictures of the Great Wall of China?
John S.
Paragon, Indiana
Dear John:
Our journey began by typing the phrase "Great Wall of China" into Yahoo!'s search box. This took us to the Great Wall category in the directory, which contained a number of web sites. Satellite radar from NASA provides the long view of this 1,864-mile-long, 15th century earthwork.

At UNESCO's World Heritage site, which highlights preservation projects worldwide, we learned that the Great Wall was the world's largest military installation, while China Vista took us on a slideshow walk of the Wall.

Our final stop, an essay about the Great Wall written by a college professor in Maine, documents a recent visit to China in both words and pictures.
