It's looking that way. According to a recent article from IT Facts, last year more digital cameras were sold in the United States than film cameras. Just over 40 percent of U.S. households now have a digital camera. A 2000 article from PC World estimates that 42 million digital cameras would be sold in the United States in 2005, compared with only 18 million film cameras. However, disposable film cameras remain very popular, with an astounding 100 million sold per year. In addition, over 150 million camera phones were sold worldwide last year.
